It’s here! The week before Christmas! Kindergarten is going to be full of festive fun! I figured we didn’t need a full-blown newsletter but more of a daily checklist! Haha! These days are supposed to be the BEST days of our lives (and the kids). So, here is what we have going on!

Monday (Dec.16th) – Big/Little Chief Ornament Exchange at 1:20 and Dine and Donate at Zaxby’s

Tuesday (Dec. 17th)- Don’t forget your gift exchange gift! $20 limit and if you forgot the kids name let me know! I have a list!

Thursday (Dec. 19th) – Secret Field Trip to see Santa- We will leave school at 8:30 a.m. You are welcome follow me there or just meet us there. It’s a pretty straight shot off of HWY 82. Remember, dress in your festive, fun Christmas attire! We’ll have pictures with SANTA!  I can’t wait to see the kids faces when they figure out where we are going!

Friday (Dec. 20th) – we’ll have our fun gift exchange, party, and head home at noon (or before if you wish)! J

Kindergarten Newsletter
December 9th  – December 13th    



9.5 days! I’m not sure how I feel about these years starting to fly by like they are! It’s literally halfway through kindergarten! When we come back in January we will only have 5 months left! I may just cry! This part of the year is hectic but we must stop and enjoy these babies! Kindergarten Christmas is the best year of Christmas by far! They magic and sheer excitement is so contagious. J We will continue to do as much academic things as we can but also enjoy the season. I’ll keep you posted on all the upcoming events as they are happening. J DON’T FORGET TO GET YOUR SECRET FIELD TRIP MONEY/FORM BY THE 11TH. I have to send it in to the people that afternoon so they can be ready for us! J Also, if you forgot to send your jelly and socks/toiletries for the SGA you can still send those. I know it’s a lot but it’s for a great cause! I’ll be out on December 12th and 13th. I absolutely hate it but I can’t avoid it. I have Mrs. Jenni coming and the kids love her! We have Polar Express on the 13th. I’ll get you more information as I get it!



Sight Words:

Numbers 0-20: id them, how to write them, making numbers to 10 in different ways, more and less, counting by 10’s, 5’s, and 2’s, counting backwards, fact families

Reminders:
Don’t forget to be collecting box tops! Box tops=free money for LSC!!
PLEASE don’t forget drinks in your kiddos lunchboxes to have a lunch time.
If you have any gently loved uniforms that you’d like to get rid of please consider donating to the school. We have a $5 spot where anyone can come and purchase uniforms! 
Don’t forget to send nap mats back after we wash! J
Please sign and return those “sign and return” papers asap. I use these to guide instruction and would love to have them back. If you want/need a copy let me know! I’ll be glad to send one! J

Secret Tips:
When you kiddos ask you “what does a 3 and 1 make?” They are beginning addition! We’ve been doing a lot of number sense activities with our numbers 0-10 and this is our next step!  
We are going to start cracking down on sight words and reading especially after Christmas! My goal is for us to have all 26 letters and sounds at mastery by Christmas. As of right now I have around half the class at or approaching mastery. During the   month of December we are going to crack down and get those under our belts.
